Wet and Wild and Unwind

I felt very down as the reporters discussed their respective topics on String Processing and Graphs in Java this morning. I was trying hard to answer our Statistics take-home exam but I just can’t seem to do so. Building castles in the air was the only thing I did when the topics covered in the exam were discussed. But I didn’t lose hope. As we finished lunch I immediately got my pen and green book and eventually got the hang of it in the end. This semester’s loaded with a lot of take-home exams (CMSC140 & CMSC123) which, despite their ‘friendly’ names, still contribute a big part to one’s time management.
We had dinner at Lola’s Inn and rain started to pour as we were about to go home. We were left with no other choice but to chase it and arrive at the dorm all soaked. I passed by Althea, a 4th-year Public Health student, and she called to me, “Basa.” (wet) and I replied, “Gani.” (yeah/yep). My roommate Hanny John invited me to go with them to town to unwind. I declined. I have no plans of doing such thing at all. There are still a lot to do. I should cope with my lazy days (argh, and these days happen to be the finals-week days!) and meet the deadlines. I merely asked him to buy me a burger. *grin*
Failure to Code

Argh, I joined a contest in TopCoder and just this morning I scanned through the entries and I couldn’t help but smile and tremble as I saw them. Then I knew via e-mail that my entry got disqualified. Ah, the pain, it hurts inside. Huha~
Dear simulationelson,
This email is in regard to {insert filename of entry} submitted on Monday, October 8, 2007 at 10:43 SGT
Unfortunately, your TopCoder Studio submission has failed review for the following reason(s):
As stated in the Spec Doc, other colors are acceptable, however, the focus must be kept on the tournament colors. Your design does not focus on the tournament colors.
Sincerely,
Jessica Williams
TopCoder Studio
If only I had enough time, and good attitude not to confuse myself on the requirements (not about the color scheme at all), perhaps I could have made it (yeah, right). I’ll post my entry, maybe later.
Edit: I think the Biology20 3rd long exam we had at 1 this afternoon was the same thing as what our classmates who took the subject last sem had. See, we asked them about it this morning and they said that one essay question was, “If you are on a boat stranded in the middle of the ocean, would you drink seawater for survival?” John Paul immediately exclaimed, “It really is here!” upon seeing that it was indeed in our questionnaire too. Haha. Also, my report in CMSC123 this morning on Selection – Randomized Quick-Select was a success. Yea! =P
